It Can Cause Disease and Bacteria to Proliferate
Diseases and bacteria love animal droppings. Every time they see a piece of animal dropping, they will swoop right over to claim it as their next breeding ground like it’s free property, and it is our job not to let them take advantage of our pets’ droppings.
Animal waste is very much harmful to humans because it contains many parasites, bacteria, and diseases that can cause a public health concern to arise. Even if our dogs are not sick or have contracted any kind of disease before, there’s a high chance that their waste contains several types of worms, viruses, bacteria, and other nasty businesses that we should never be involved in. So, the best course of action is picking them up and throwing them away so we don’t cause an epidemic to occur.
It Takes Months to Breakdown
Some pet owners have admitted that they don’t pick up after their pets because they think they will break down independently. Newsflash, it won’t! This kind of wrong thinking can lead to public health problems because, as proven by science, animal waste will not break down on its own and can take up to a year if left unmanaged.
The rain could wash away the feces for sure, but it will be flowed to the sewer and transferred to the lake, river, or any other water streams nearby; so, when you’re out swimming, you could very well be swimming in poop infested waters. This might be the most obvious because many countries have regulated fines for irresponsible pet owners who do not pick up after their pets. But we’re not talking about fines here; we’re talking about how disrespectful and rude of us to let other people clean up after our dogs’ mess, not to mention if it was left on a public area like the sidewalk or the suburbs’ curbs. Therefore, always bring a plastic bag to pick up after your pets and throw them away respectfully.
